Gump is a 12 year old grade gelding,
who was born here on the place.
Started as a two year old, he was very
easy to handle, and was dragging calves
that summer. The following summer he
went to the mountains near Gunnison,
Colorado and worked in an outfitters
string as a 3 year old. He came home
that winter and was sold to a relative
shortly thereafter. Soundness issues led
the relative to offer him back to the us 2
years ago, and we jumped at the
chance to have our old friend back. His
soundness issues have been resolved,
and he can still go all day, in fact we just
covered about 15 miles along the river
gathering bulls; and I had as much
horse left when I got home as I started
with. He is the fastest horse I've ever
ridden, and has been trotted around the
barrels some this summer. He had
stopping issues, when he came home,
but you can see we are back to riding
him in a D-ring snaffle, and he is doing
just fine. He is for sale to the right
